Lindsey Simmons has a bachelor's degree in political science and master's in business administration, both from Mississippi State University. She obtained a juris doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. After law school, Lindsey was in private practice for several years and then worked at the Mississippi Supreme Court for four years. Lindsey was also an adjunct professor of Legal Writing at Mississippi College School of Law for six years.

Lindsey joined Simmons Consulting in 2015. ​In addition to legislative services, Lindsey offers grant assistance and review. She is also familiar with the nonprofit arena and often takes on legislative issues for nonprofits. Lindsey is skilled at bringing all interested parties to the table to work through issues and develop a plan of action.
Lindsey is active in the community and at her church. In 2018, Lindsey helped found the Mississippi Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and she now serves as President of the Board of Directors. In 2022, she was instrumental in starting the state's only home for minor victims of human trafficking.
